Ashley + Kevin: Washington D.C. themed wedding

It has been MONTHS since I posted in my blog.  I have so many new invitations to share and I’m so excited to start out that sharing with these awesome Washington, D.C. themed wedding invitations.  All photos were taken by the talented Kristen Taylor and I’m so thrilled to show some professional photos for the next few weeks. 🙂

Ashley had a VERY specific vision of her wedding invitations.  We started with the skyline and decided which of the Washingon landmarks would be featured on the invitation. After deciding on the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial and the Capitol building, I asked one of my very talent artist friends to draw an elegant pencil etching of the skyline. Together with the vintage style borders and ornaments around the wording, we had a winner.The navy pocketfold invitaitons were wrapped shut with a beautiful sash designed with a monogram, ornamental frame and the location since most of the guests would be coming to the wedding as a destination wedding and vacation.

I designed the custom postage stamps with a simpler monogram of just their initials along with the Washington, D.C. skyline.

The bright green outer envelopes were designed just like the invitations – with borders and ornaments around the address and curved lines of text.
