We here at Gourmet Invitations were excited when Be Inspired PR contacted me to submit to Brides.com for an article about Incorporating Patterns into your wedding. We wrote about invitations with patterns and using different materials other than paper. Anyone who follows our work knows that we aren’t afraid of patterns and colors. For our invitations with patterns, Brides.com featured ikat invitations with chevron printed envelope liners. We have recently been printing patterns on velvet, silk, wood and even metal!
From Bride.com:
Don’t Limit Yourself to Actual Paper
Sure, you can get papers that come in different patterns and tone-on-tone textures, but if you really want to add prints to your invitation suite, consider including fabrics as part of the design. “We use fabrics like velvet, suede, and silk to incorporate prints and patterns, as well as add texture,” says Tifany Wunschl of Gourmet Invitations. “We can print right on those fabrics with techniques like screen printing and foil.” Here, she used a bright teal and orange Ikat-style pattern to back this hot pink bridal shower invitation, then contrasted with yellow chevron inside the invitation. When it comes to adding prints, as long as the colors are cohesive, there’s no need to shy away from super-bold hues!
