Jennifer’s Mehndi Love Bird Invitations

I was so excited when I got this order. Jennifer is having two ceremonies – a Mehndi sunrise service and then later in the day, a traditional service and reception. Although I didn’t do the Indian wedding invitations, she wanted the invitations to be very Mehndi in their inspiration. She fell in love with two graphics – these love birds (she will actually have love birds printed in henna on her hands at the ceremony) and this very modern lotus graphic. But another interesting element is the “a” in their names. Jennifer loved the look of the movie poster for Namesake. She wanted a similar font for the “a”s in their names. I searched for hours and came up with nothing that I was happy with. I finally designed the “a” myself.

Jennifer also ordered an invitation I haven’t done before. I had a sample of an invitation I made with ribbon threaded to the front to hold the inserts in place. I love how all of the very unique pieces came together to create such an amazing set.
