Laser Cut Invitations now at Gourmet Invitations

laser cut invitation, folded card invitation, sagris, tapas, 40th birthday invitations

I always thought it would be difficult to design something for myself.  When I design invitations, I always have the client in mind, so I’ve always wondered what I would actually design for myself. Well, I found out when I designed these laser cut invitations for a party that I had at my home back in December.

So a Sangria and Tapas party was the perfect theme for my milestone birthday party. 😉  I designed the invitations to look vintage in their style with oranges and lemons as the main graphic.

love life friends family, birthday invitations, sangria and tapas partyI have been wanting to make a laser cut invitation for years now and deciding that this was the perfect look for invitations that I would send out. They were designed with the words Life, Friends, Love, Family – all of the things that I was celebrating that evening. Oranges and orange blossoms decorated the spaces between the words.

I made custom wine and beer glass name holders for each of the guests.  I also made two different types of Sangria – white and red.  Lemons, oranges and limes made for an inexpensive and pretty decoration.

The menu was very important to me.  I spent hours pouring through tapas recipes.  My wonderful family and friends all pitched in to make the food so I didn’t have to cook that day.  There were empanadas, bacon wrapped dates, shrimp and chirizo sausage, marinated mushrooms, quince paste and manchego skewers, seranno ham and roasted tomatoes, and olive and roasted pepper skewers.  I made orange shape signs for each of the items and skewered them onto a clementines so they would stand up.

I am a huge dessert fan too so I had to have a small dessert buffet. My mom made pumpkin bread cream cheese sandwiches and iced brownies. Then I rounded out the buffet with Italian cookies and canolies.

It was an amazing evening and I couldn’t have asked for a better gathering of Life, Friends, Love and Family.
