Rustic Bat Mitzvah Invitations
My dear friend, Michele Schwartz of Modern Jewish Wedding, asked me to design bat mitzvah invitations for a client. The result is this gorgeous rustic bat mitzvah invitation complete with burlap, twine, and kraft natural papers. The edge of the burlap is braided to prevent fraying. We personalize each invitation with a natural cardstock. The last step is to wrap the tag around the invitation with knotted twine.
Here is a closeup of the personalized tag. It says “Macon Family” and is sure to impress their guests.

The invitation is two layers of a natural fiber cardstock. A darker layer, close to the color of brown paper bags, has deep brown print. This is attached to a lighter oatmeal color cardstock. Response cards for multiple events are more and more typical. For these bat mitzvah invitations, there is a Friday welcome party, the Saturday mitzvah celebration, and a Sunday brunch. The guests reply for all of the events in one place. The inserts alternate between the darker kraft cardstock and the lighter version. All of the inserts layer in place behind on the burlap on the back of the invitation. Kraft mailing envelopes complete this suite. The print on each envelope is a deep brown. Custom stamps with Layla’s name make the invitations even more custom!
