You want to be sure to the tone, theme, and overall feel of your wedding from the moment your guests open their mailbox. Below are my choices for the top five wedding invitation trends 2018! I was also asked for my predictions in the International Wedding Trend Report. It is a fabulous resource for your upcoming wedding. Watercolor Invitations

Watercolor wedding invitations take so many different styles. It can be a landscape of your childhood home, a sketch of your wedding venue, or light flowers. This invitation has the flowers from the bride’s bouquet and is worked into the invitation with the envelope liner and a pretty vellum belly band.

Wedding Theme Trends

With all of my upcoming clients, they are trending away from a set theme per se. Where in years past, I’d see lots of “rustic barn with an elegant feel” or specific themes like “1920’s Great Gatsby”, couples are trending towards a feeling or overall look to the wedding. We’ll be seeing lots of Elegant and Opulant.

Laser Cut Acrylic Invitations

Laser invitations have been popular for a few years and I don’t see any stop to that. (You can see my top acrylic invitations here) The acrylic is taking a new shape and look this year. This invitation is layered with hi-shine metallic gold and then laser cut. The flowers in the design are directly from the bride’s wedding dress.

Hand Drawn Wedding Invitations

Unique and personal invitations go to another level with a hand-drawn invitation. Dawn and Kevin are self-proclaimed “geeks”. Inspired by a poster in their home, I suggested a drawing of the two of them looking up at the sky. When Dawn asked if their FIVE cats could be around them. My answer was, of course! Guests from their wedding raved and raved about the uniqueness of their invitations.

Velvet Wedding Invitation Trends

I started working with velvet a few years ago. (You can see those invitations here, here, and here). Now you see it all over the red carpet, in table linens, and ribbons. Adriann wanted the texture of the velvet with a flower pattern to match her wedding dress. Made as a panel style, there is a velvet pocket on the back for the inserts!

Colour Predictions for 2018 Stationery

Jewel tones, but in more muted tones. I’m seeing lots of lavender, dusty rose, slate blue, sage green. And of course, they are all still being paired with gold. I think that after years and years of only ivory and blush being the color accent to gold, we’re finally going to see some color coming back.

 Laser Cut Invitations

Laser cut wedding invitations have been popular for years now.  The designs are more intricate and more unique with each year. Jennifer and George’s wedding was at their family Greek Orthodox church. Their laser cut belly band is a design inspired by the curtains at the Fillmore Theatre with an Orthodox cross in the center.
