I always thought it would be difficult to design something for myself. When I design invitations, I always have the client in mind, so I’ve always wondered what I would actually design for myself. Well, I found out when I designed these laser cut invitations for a party that I had at my home back […]
I decided to post this right smack dab in the middle of “Save the Date” week here at Gourmet Invitations since a new save the date was “in the press”. Last month I was asked for an interview by 944Detroit magazine. They just published their first wedding magazine and I must say, it is really […]
Jennifer fell in love with Christine’s multi-font invitations that I designed last year. She wanted something similar for her save the dates. To do something different for her, I came up with a ton of love phrases to cover the save the date.
Elizabeth is doing a very vintage theme to her invitations and wedding. Her colors are a deep navy and ivory. I designed her save the dates with a vintage sign graphic and used vintage fonts to continue the look of the save the date.
Shannon’s wedding is a destination wedding in wine country in California. She wanted the look of vintage California postcards. The back was designed in the same vintage feel with a banner and vintage fonts. Shannon wanted to mail her “postcards” in envelopes and I did machine calligraphy in matching fonts on her envelopes.
Lane wanted a vintage looking rose photo for her save the dates. I designed the front with a large budding rose and designed a custom monogram using their wedding date. The back was designed with all of the save the date information and mailing lines to send out to their guests.
Laura’s wine country inspired save the dates are my favorite of the season. Laura had already purchased wine corks and we knew the set would be sent in small mailing boxes. The save the date was designed to look like a vintage wine label to go along with the theme of wine. I printed it […]
Melissa wanted her New Year’s Eve wedding invitations to be very festive and she wanted them designed with either confetti or streamers. After a few proof of confetti or streamers, Melissa choose these invitations with black confetti flowing down the invitation. Her inserts were bundled with lots of black satin ribbon. Custom postage stamps were […]
I can post very little of this invitation because you’ll be seeing it in a national magazine this year! But I wanted to post just a few small details of these amazing invitations. Megan wanted to base her invitations on the Ball Drop in Times Square. I had custom “crystal ball” broaches designed that slid […]
Lauren’s New Year’s Eve wedding was more about the glamour of the evening, as opposed to the New Year’s Eve theme like many of the other posted in my blog this week. Thermography was very important to Lauren so I did only second invitation with thermography for her! They turned out very pretty. Lauren had […]
Kathryn and Kyle were a ton of fun to work with on these vintage and modern typography New Years Eve wedding invitations. The wedding was held at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Her coordinator, Misty Trompeter from Bells and Bliss had shown her the New Years Eve invitations that I did last year […]
With my post yesterday about my New Year’s Eve dinner, I decided to make this “New Year’s Eve at Gourmet Invitation” week. I had five New Year’s Eve Weddings this past year. The first to be profiled is Kathryn’s Detroit Theme wedding. The wedding was held at the Detroit Yacht Club on Belle Isle. Kathryn […]
If you have followed my blog for more a long time, you may remember that I revealed the story behind the name “Gourmet Invitations”. If you are a new reader, you find that story here. This year was my New Year’s Eve to make another gourmet dinner. I prepared seven courses of food over three […]
When Aletha VanderMaas of Pearls Events announced that she was pregnant, I immediately offered to do her baby shower invitations. Her friend, Emily, contacted me just a few weeks ago and showed me Aletha’s nursery linens – with adorable owls as the theme. I knew I wanted to make owl shaped invitations and within 3 days time, […]
