Katrina + Stephen: Library Inspired

I’ve had this invitation in my archives for weeks waiting to blog. When Katrina saw Nicole’s Newberry Library Invitations she knew that they were perfect for their wedding. Books were a huge part of Katrina and Stephen’s life and even though the wedding will be in wine country in California, books will be a huge part of the wedding.

Some of the elements of Katrina’s library theme invitations are similar to Nicole’s. The RSVP cards have fun responses.

I designed Katrina’s rehearsal dinner invitation to look like a card catalogue piece – complete with the hole in the bottom.

The most unique element of this set was the bookplate included in each invitation. The guests are asked to bring a book to the reception for the bride and groom. Bookplates were included with the invitaitons for the guest to sign and put in the book. I took an old copy of “Pride and Prejudice”, Katrina’s favorite book, and ripped out the pages for this insert. Then we added an “authors’ note” to explain how to use the bookplates.

The bookplates are these pretty oval cream stickers.

The black outer envelopes were wrapped with envelope wraps.

And I waited to post these because Your Wedding Day did a feature on Katrina’s invitations on their blog. Congrats Katrina!
