Thanksgiving Table Settings With Tisha Holman Events

Since Thanksgiving is this week, I am happy to share with you that I am so honored to have the incredibly talented Tisha Holman from Tisha Holman Events include Gourmet Invitations on her holiday table decorating segment on The Broadcast! This month she did one on Thanksgiving Table Settings. I supplied the place cards, acorn menu and the “I am thankful for” cards. Some of Tisha’s holiday table setting tips were:

– Instead of placing your food in the center of the table, set up a buffet somewhere else like in the kitchen– then create a table setting that will encourage conversation. Use low-centerpieces and florals so that guests can still see each other and interact.

– Have guests share a few things they are thankful for. Sometimes life has us so pre-occupied we can forget to stop and reflect on the blessings we have.

– Make dessert a part of the table decor! Mini desserts are a great way to add something sweet to the table, and then guests don’t even have to get up when it’s time to enjoy!

Elegant Place Settings

I love working with fantastic event planners that have an eye for style and have some great new ideas. We recently provided different types of menu options for a stylized shoot with Ms. Lenee Valentine that showcased different ways you can create elegant place settings. The first option was a pearl typographic menu with black ink and the second was a clear acrylic menu with fuchsia ink that went right on top of the plate. Another fun item we provided were the personalized photo gift boxes that were to go to each guest and mark their place setting. A huge thank you goes to the wonderful photographer Robyn Aaron of Robyn Photo!

Custom Bar/Bat Mitzvah Invitations

I love to create custom bar/bat mitzvah invitations and custom paper designs for any event! In todays post I have an example for bar mitzvah and a bat mitzvah invitation. I hope you enjoy them! But first, a bit about the bar/bat mitzvah traditions.

The Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah are Jewish coming of age rituals. Bar is a Jewish Babylonian Aramaic word literally meaning ‘son’  while bat  means ‘daughter’ in Hebrew, and mitzvah  means ‘commandment’ or ‘law’. Thus bar mitzvah and bat mitzvah literally translate to “son of commandment” and “daughter of commandment”.  Reaching the age of bar or bat Mitzvah signifies becoming a full-fledged member of the Jewish community with the responsibilities that come with it. According to Jewish law, when Jewish boys become 13 years old, they become accountable for their actions and become a bar mitzvah. A girl becomes a bat mitzvah at the age of 12 according to Orthodox and Conservative Jews, and at the age of 13 according to Reform Jews.

According to the Orthodox view, the bar mizvah boy is so happy to be commanded to do mitzvah and earn reward in the next world for his efforts, that he throws a party and has a festive meal.

Bar and bat mitzvah parties in America are often lavish affairs held at hotels and country clubs with hundreds of guests.

Steampunk Wedding Invitations

These steampunk wedding invitations were so much fun to design for Alexandria and Rayan! These black invitations had a suede feel to them with copper foil printing accents. Our couple was married on the beautiful Mackinac Island . I created ferry tickets for their guests since there are no motorized vehicles allowed on the island.

Mackinac Island is the truly “all natural” theme park of America. Limited to transportation of horse and buggy, bicycle or foot, surrounded by water, it has escaped the vast changes of time. Its real Victorian image is preserved and enhanced by a small population of 500 permanent residents and scores of summer residents, maintaining bluff cottages in original state. Families, especially children, love their relatively new found “mobility”, exploring the historic, natural beauty of Mackinac Island State Park, honored by National Geographic as one of the ten finest in America. What a great place to have a wedding!

A Huge thank you to Czap Studios for the beautiful images!

Mt. Palomar Winery Wedding Invitations

I recently designed these Mt. Palomar Winery wedding invitations, response cards, program fans, save the dates, & favor tags for a sweet couple getting married in Southern California.  I used an actual photo of the winery grounds as inspiration for the invitation itself creating the front gates and the trees lining the entrance. The inside had a grape motif that also was on the response cards and map. The save the date coasters were letter pressed and made to mimic the top of a wine barrel. I created the program fans and the “Love is Sweet, Thanks for Bee-in’ Here With Us” favor tags to go with their honey bear favors. The ladies of Classic Touch Events were wonderful to work with and Julie of Hulse Photography did an amazing job on their beautiful wedding photos! A big congratulations to Harley and Aaron!

13 gold lace wedding invitations

I was so thrilled to have my lace and gold wedding invitations featured on Style Me Pretty.  This beautiful Seaside, Florida wedding was designed by It’s A Shore Thing by captured by the amazing Lauren Kinsey Photography.

Kelsey’s invitations were silk pads covered with lace and printed with gold ink.  The back of the pad had a silk pocket that held the inserts.  Custom die cut mailing boxes were printed and address with white calligraphy.  I also designed the wedding programs, personalized menus, cocktail napkins, wishing well cards and food signage.

New Years Eve Wedding Stationery

We went with a romantic gold and ivory look for this New Years Eve wedding stationery.

Valerie and Brian tied the knot at the Colony Club in Detroit, Michigan.  They were looking for elegant yet fun to tie in the new year, so we mixed and matched the pieces adding gold texture and design for a New Years Eve feel.
