I love making invitations out of something unexpected – like old vinyl records. When Miranda asked me to make her save the dates as a record album, I jumped at the chance.
The wedding was held on the ocean and had a vintage theme. So I designed the label with a vintage beach theme and their wedding song, “At Last”.
When Nicole asked me to design her sister’s wedding shower invitations, I was ecstatic. Not only is Nicole one of my favorite clients from last year, but she was doing a book theme shower and I couldn’t wait to design a book wedding invitation. The invitation was designed with the same ribbon as was wrapped around the outside of the books to old them shut.
Nicole spent hours hollowing each of the books. The invitation and coordinating pieces fit perfectly inside.
A custom bookplate was placed on the first page of the book.
Inside each book, there was a bookplate for the guests to place inside their favorite book to give to the bride.
Deepa contacted me to design her engagement party invitations. The wedding will be taking place in India and she wanted the engagement party invitations to tie in with the paisley wedding invitations. I designed these with her curry color and a deep navy blue.
Monica is one of my former brides, one of my models and now a colleague. She asked me to design bachelorette party invitations and to design them with the new Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas in mind. I had just traveled to Las Vegas when I designed these and I used the amazing Chandelier bar as my inspiration.
Yesterday, I posted Jennifer’s squirrel wedding invitation suite. Here are all of her whimsical wedding day decor. I designed bifold wedding programs with the squirrels on the front.
And the tree from the front wrapped around to the thank you section on the back.
Jennifer’s table numbers were each different with the squirrel playing around on the numbers.
My favorite is the number 14 with the squirrel hanging upside down from the number 1.
Jennifer had three menu choices so each placecard was designed with a squirrel holding a different letter to tell the server which meal each guest was to be served.
Menus were layered with a tangerine color and designed with their monogram and the two squirrels at a table serving each other an acorn.
I also design quite a few photo booth logos each year and Jennifer’s squirrel monogram matched the wedding to a tee.
And the same logo was used on their adorable squirrel thank you cards.
Jennifer’s wedding invitations are on my all time favorite list. I don’t get the chance very option to design cute and whimsical invitations and these two squirrels in love were a blast to design. Thanks again to Kristen Taylor for capturing the whimsy of these invitations through her photography.
I started with Jennifer’s ideas to incorporate a tree and something whimsical. She mentioned that squirrels were sort of a family joke, but she wasn’t sure I could design something with squirrels and still be “wedding”.
The two squirrels are high up in the tree and one is holding a heart and these squirrels immediately became “wedding”.
I have many favorite elements in this suite, but one of them is the squirrel running up the side of the custom postage stamp that is designed with the squirrel holding the heart.
The inserts were wrapped with lots of teal colored ribbon to hold everything in a tight package.
I designed each insert with the sweet little squirrels doing something appropriate for the card. On the RSVP card, they are messing around on a mailbox.
For the reception card, I designed the two squirrels sitting on a table.
And the custom maps were designed with the same whimsical style – even an upside down acorn for the compass.

Yesterday I posted Laura’s beautiful wedding invitations with my first custom wax seal. Today, I’m happy to show off their wedding day pieces! First off, the programs which used a wax seal to close the page.
When the program opened, it was a different twist on the typical trifold.
A very popular item for destination weddings is an itinerary for each guest.
I also designed matching dinner menus.
Because this destination wedding party was so small, no table numbers were needed on the placecards.
Monogrammed thank you cards with silver envelopes was the final matching detail.
Laura and Adam loved the idea of using a wax seal on their wedding invitations. I always hate the idea of putting it on the envelopes with the possibility that the post office is going to rip it off. So I came up with a great solution! I put it right on the invitation and then….
..I used vellum envelopes so that the wax seal showed through to the guest, but was still protect. Laura had been collecting vintage postage stamps for over a year for the invitations. Each one meant something to the couple and wedding as opposed to matching the color and theme.
The invitations were design with a vintage border and printed with two color thermography.
On the inside of the folded card, the inserts with held in with a matching sash of silver paper.
Vintage postage also adorns the rsvp envelopes.
The wax seal was custom designed with their monogram and the wax was a pearlized green. Ivory cording was wrapped around the invitation and the wax seal held it in place.

Rachel’s wedding colors of blush pink and silver were definitely the most popular of colors this wedding season. I have TONS of this color scheme coming up this season. Rachel wanted a whimsical vintage invitation to go along with the shabby chic wedding reception she was planning – complete with milk glass vases and containers at all of the tables. All of the photos in this post are from the lovely Kristen Taylor Photography.
The invitation was designed with four different fonts with a ribbon like border around the different sections of the invitation.
The inserts were bound with lots of silver ribbon. I love the wording on these rsvp cards.
The outer envelopes were custom designed and printed with machine calligraphy in the same style as the invitations.
Custom postage stamps were the final touch to the envelopes.
Yesterday I posted Diana’s gorgeous black and green pocketfold invitations. Today, I’m thrilled to share all of her reception decor items! I again had the great pleasure of working with Jennifer from It’s a Shore Thing on all of these amazing reception pieces.
Probably one of my favorite paper items to create are the valet tags. You never get to see them in any wedding photos, but they are such a fun and unexpected item that is waiting for the guests when they get into their cars.
I also created oval stickers to go on Diana’s Black cake boxes.
Thank you cards had Diana’s monogram – are you seeing a trend here.
Now on to my favorite pieces. I created these stir sticks and food skewers for various drinks and food at the reception.
Their signature drink was a fun melon green color and was a perfect detail of the wedding.
